Most individuals with mental illness or mental disability can be supported successfully in the community, with the right combination of supports, supervision and interventions. Zumbro House, Inc. was founded on that belief, and it continues to guide everything we do. Diverting institutional placement or providing an appropriate community based step-down from institutional placement, is our mission. We strive to provide innovative supports that allow people with mental illness and/or disabilities to live meaningful lives. Person-centered care is the basis for many of the supports we offer. We encourage goals and dreams and create individualized supports to help clients achieve them. The idea of home is a key part of our services. To us, that means providing normalized settings where our clients feel comfortable and secure.
